This is a matter under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Having considered the materials placed on record and the fact that the petitioner is in custody for 472 days, we are of the opinion that bail cannot be granted at this stage and is accordingly rejected. Since the charge-sheet has been filed in this case, the petitioner is at liberty to move before the trial court for bail, which is to be considered by the trial court upon merits.

We also request the trial court to expedite the trial. All parties are to act on a website copy of this order on the usual undertaking.
