...for the State The application for bail is canvassed on the ground that the petitioner is in custody for 4 years and 132 days.

The trial has commenced. It appears from the deposition of some of the witnesses from the prosecution that the petitioner was, in fact, running brothel and has been identified by the victim.

Given nature of the offence under which the petitioner has been charged, the Court is not inclined to entertain the application for bail. Counsel of the petitioner also argued that the co-accused persons have been granted bail by this Court on 9th November, 2017 in CRM 11075 of 2017. This Court notes that at the relevant point of time charges under Sections 376 and 370 have not been added against the petitioner. In these circumstances, CRM 6891 of 2021 stands dismissed. No order as to costs.
