Mr. Santanu Kumar Mitra, Ms. Jyotsna Roy Mukherjee ... for the State The writ petitioner complains that local villagers have been trying to harm and disrupt his family. The petitioner's wife is accused of black magic.

Counsel for the State submits that the petitioner is on bail in respect of criminal proceeding, inter alia, under Section 302 of the IPC. Charge sheet has already been filed against the petitioner and trial is awaited.

The petitioner is entitled to stay in his house without any disturbance from the local villagers. The O. C., Swarupnagar Police Station shall ensure that the petitioner and his family are not to be disturbed and the local villagers are warned against any such disturbance. Police shall take all necessary steps for maintaining peace in the area.

The writ petition is disposed of.

In view of disposal of the writ petition, connected application being CAN 1 of 2022 is also disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
