Banerjee ...for the State Mr. Debanjan Mukherjee ...for CESC Mr. Sourojit Mukherjee ...for the private respondent This writ petition has been filed seeking restoration of the electricity connection to a shop room located at 76/4, Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road (formerly Biren Roy Road East), Madan Mohan Tala, Police Station - Haridevpur, Kolkata - 700008. The petitioners claim to be tenants in respect of the said shop room under respondent no. 4.

Learned counsel appearing for the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC) submits that the electricity line was never disconnected by CESC and that the meter remains active. It is suggested that the landlord may have disconnected the service line between the main switch and the meter.

The dispute thus appears to be of a private nature between the petitioners and respondent no. 4, the landlord.

Respondent no. 4 is represented. He denies the allegations.

In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with liberty granted to the petitioners to engage a qualified technician or engineer to restore the connection between the meter and the main switch. Respondent no. 4 is directed not to cause any obstruction in such restoration.

Accordingly, WPA 16271 of 2025 is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
