..For the State The learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that his client has been arrayed as an accused in connection with N.D.P.S. case for possession of commercial quantity of contraband articles.

The ground taken for release of the petitioner on bail is that he is in custody for a period of one year nine months without any trial.

Having heard the learned Advocate for the petitioner and the learned Advocate for the State and in consideration of the materials on record and considering the commercial quantity of contraband articles having been seized from the possession of the petitioner, as prima facie revealed from the records, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is refused.

However, the learned Judge, Special Court under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 is requested to undertake the trial as expeditiously as possible.

The application for bail, being C.R.M. No. 6980 of 2021, is dismissed.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance of necessary formalities.
