This writ application has been preferred seeking a direction upon the learned Central Administrative Tribunal, Kolkata Bench to dispose of the original application, being Application No.350/1907/2015 as expeditiously as possible.

Mr. Ghosh, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the original application was filed way back in 2015. The parties have already exchanged their affidavits in respect of the original application, as directed.

Drawing our attention to the order dated 24th April, 2019 passed by the learned Tribunal on that original application, Mr. Ghosh submits that hearing of that original application was concluded, the parties were given liberties to file their written notes of arguments and even the matter was fixed for final disposal but, thereafter, the matter was adjourned on numerous occasions. Subsequently, normal function of the Tribunal was disrupted due to Covid-19 pandemic. Ultimately, the

matter has been placed in the list of adjourned matters and direction has been given that the matter will be on the board till disposal.

He further submits that unless and until a direction is given upon the learned Tribunal to dispose of the original application expeditiously, the petitioner/applicant will be seriously prejudiced.

Mr. Bhattahcharyya, learned Deputy Solicitor General-1 does not oppose such prayer of the petitioner. In view thereof, we direct the learned Tribunal to dispose of the original application, being Application No.350/1907/2015 as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six months from date without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. The writ petition, being COCT 1 of 2023 is, thus, disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties, upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
