... For the State The prayer for bail is canvassed on the ground that the petitioner is in custody for 2 years and 7 months in a charge under the NDPS Act. Charges have been framed in the Court below. The trial has otherwise commenced, It is submitted by the Counsel for the State that there are as many as 8 witnesses to be examined.

In that view of the matter, it is directed that the Court below may complete the trial within a period of one year from the date of communication of the copy of this order.
