The grievance of the petitioner pertains to the wrongful revocation of the petitioner's passport by the respondent authorities.

It is an admitted position that there were matrimonial disputes between the petitioner and his wife. Divorce proceedings were initiated between the parties. On a complaint filed by the petitioner's wife the Passport of the petitioner bearing No. H8417064 had been revoked.

Mr. Tiwari appears on behalf of the respondent Authorities and submits that the petitioner should file a fresh application for a new passport in accordance with law.

Heard the parties.

I am of the view that in the peculiar facts and circumstances of this case, the petitioner is granted liberty to apply for a fresh passport after complying

with all formalities under extant Rules and Regulations. If such application for a fresh passport is made for, the respondent authorities are directed to consider the petitioner's request for a fresh passport in accordance with law without giving any weightage to the earlier revocation of the petitioner's passport which was only on the ground that there were matrimonial disputes between the petitioner and his wife. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the divorce proceedings by and between the petitioner and his wife have been concluded.

Mr. Tiwari appears on behalf of the respondent authorities and does not object to the passing of the this order.

It is expected that the respondent authorities will consider the proposed application for a fresh passport by the petitioner as expeditiously as possible. With the aforesaid directions, WPA 15385 of 2019 stands disposed off.

Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
