Writ petition is heard in presence of the learned advocates representing the petitioner, School Service Commission as well as Board.

The grievance of the petitioner is in spite of making application dated 6th May, 2022 seeking transfer on medical ground and forwarding of such application by the concerned District Inspector of Schools to the office of the West Bengal Central School Service Commission no decision has been taken by the Chairman of the said Commission. Since on compliance of necessary formalities school authority where petitioner is serving and the concerned District Inspector of Schools have forwarded the transfer application of the petitioner to the Commission it

is the duty of the Commission to take decision within reasonable time.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Commission being respondent no. 3 is directed to take decision on the transfer application of the petitioner by 8 (eight) weeks from the date of communication of this order. The decision to be taken by the respondent no. 3 shall be communicated to the petitioner within 1 (one) week thereafter. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.)
