We have considered the materials on record including the statements of the victim girl, which disclose prima facie involvement of the petitioner in the alleged penetrative sexual assault on her. We note that the cross-examination of the victim girl is in progress.

In view of the gravity of the offence and the stage of the proceedings, we are not inclined in granting bail to the petitioner at this stage.

The application for bail is thus rejected.
