Without going into the merit of the allegations of the petitioner against the HDFC Bank, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Banking Ombudsman, Reserve Bank of India to consider the complaint of the petitioner which was filed on May 9, 2024.

The complaint pertains to a gold loan account of the petitioner which was sanctioned by the HDFC Bank, with the allegation that the bank was charging higher rate of interest than what was agreed upon. The Banking Ombudsman, Reserve Bank of India is directed to dispose of the complaint within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order mandatorily.

Both the petitioner and the HDFC Bank shall forward a copy of this writ petition along with the server copy of this order to the Banking Ombudsman, Reserve Bank of India for compliance of this order.

Necessary order shall be passed upon hearing the petitioner and the HDFC Bank. The reasoned order shall be communicated to all concerned. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.

Parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
