Learned lawyer for the State submits that the petitioner has brutally murdered his mother.

Although the materials on record disclose prima facie involvement of the petitioner in a grave crime of matricide, we note that the petitioner has suffered detention for a protracted period of time and the trial has not progressed with sufficient expedition. Hence, though we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner, trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date preferably within 1 year from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting adjournment to either of the parties.
