Mr. Ramasish Mukherjee, Mr. Sourav Chakraborty.
...for the Petitioner.
Mr. P. K. Datta, ld. A.P.P., Mr. Santanu Deb Roy.
...for the State.
1.
Heard the learned Advocates for the parties.
2.
We have considered the materials on record. Evidence of the victim is placed on record. She has supported the prosecution case. Petitioner had poured acid on her face. As a result, eyes of the victim were damaged. Trial is in progress. Cross-examination has been deferred on the prayer of the defence. Hence, delay in the matter is partly attributable to the defence.
3.
In view of the gravity of offence and clinching evidence on record, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 4.
Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
