Petitioner complains that the petitioner was duped of Rs.15 lakhs by the private respondents and to that effect, information was furnished before the police authorities. In spite of receipt of such information, the police authorities refused to take any action.

State has submitted a report which reflects that pursuant to the information received, Sonarpur Police Station Case No.986 of 2024 dated 18.07.2024 was registered for investigation under Sections 420/406/506/182/34 of the Indian Penal Code and the police authorities are progressing with the investigation of the said case.

In view of the police case having been registered, the primary grievance of the petitioner has

been addressed. I direct the police authorities to put in efforts so that the investigation of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 17350 of 2024 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.

A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocates appearing for the petitioner. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
