Plot No. 3721 in Bankra3, Howrah. Learned counsel appearing for the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) submits that, pursuant to the petitioner's application, an inspection was conducted, and it was found that two electricity poles would be required to effect the connection. Accordingly, one pole has already been erected; however, due to objections raised by certain local residents, the second pole could not be installed.
Despite service, respondent nos. 6 to 8 are not represented.
Upon perusal of the sale deed annexed to the writ petition, it appears that the second pole is required to be erected in a common passage.
Therefore, respondent nos. 6 to 8 cannot legally object
to the installation of the second pole in the said common passage.
Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon WBSEDCL to effect the electricity connection by installing the second pole within a period of six weeks from date. WBSEDCL shall be at liberty to seek assistance from the local police station for the purpose of installing the pole and effecting the connection.
The petitioner shall bear the cost of such police assistance and shall comply with all necessary formalities required for availing the electricity connection.
Accordingly, WPA 16345 of 2025 is disposed of.
Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
