Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioner is in custody for more than a year and prays for bail.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record. The petitioner has been implicated by eye witnesses in their statements recorded under Section 164/161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The petitioner appears to be sole assailant who inflicted grievous injuries on the person of the victim. The victim succumbed to his injuries. Considering the gravity of the offence and prima facie involvement of the petitioner therein, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The application for bail is thus disposed of. Case diary be returned.
