1. New electricity service connection sought for by the petitioner could not be effected because of objection raised by the private respondent.

2. A hearing was conducted but no fruitful result yielded.

3. Learned advocate representing the private respondent submits that she does not have any objection if the low-tension line is drawn through the common passage and not over the private land of the private respondent.

4. Electricity being an essential commodity the Distribution Company Limited ought to find out a proper way from where service can be effected in favour of an applicant.

5. In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Divisional Manager to consider the prayer of the petitioner for grant of new low tension connection in accordance with law after giving fresh opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and the private respondent.

6. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the parties immediately thereafter.

7. Steps shall be taken at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

8. The writ petition stands disposed of.

9. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
