Petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the revisional application upon Mrs. Baisali Basu, learned advocate who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. Her appointment may be regularized by the concerned Authorities in due course. Mr. Kar, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that the petitioner is in custody and although charge was framed on 13th March, 2023, but out of the 8 witnesses relied upon by the prosecution, none of the witnesses have been examined till date.

Having regard to the anxiety expressed by the petitioner, I direct that the learned trial court would ensure regarding presence of the witnesses by sending intimation to the office of the Superintendent of Police who is bound to maintain a register for the progress of NDPS cases. The Superintendent of Police would ensure regarding departmental witnesses to be present before the learned trial court. The learned trial court would fix at least a schedule of three dates in each and every sixty days so that the

trial of the case is concluded at the earliest. No unnecessary adjournments should be granted to either of the parties. The Public Prosecutor appearing in the case would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the dates fixed for examination of the witnesses concerned. All efforts be taken by the stake-holders to complete the trial at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 2546 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of. All concerned parties are to act in terms of a copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court. [Tirthankar Ghosh, J]
