If the petitioner applies for connection in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations and in the online mode along with all necessary documents, new connection shall be effected to the premises of the petitioner upon an inspection to be held by the CESC authority and upon the CESC authorities being satisfied that the requirements have been met.

The connection shall be effected within a period of two months from the receipt of the application of the petitioner. The money which was deposited by the petitioner sometime in 2013, shall be refunded to the petitioner within August 27, 2024. The petitioner will visit the District Engineer, CESC Limited, Calcutta South District on August 19, 2024 and the authority will do the needful with regard to the refund. Accordingly, writ petition is disposed of.

However, there will be no order as to costs.

Parties are directed to act on the basis learned advocate's communication as also on the basis of the server copy of this order.
