The State of West Bengal & Anr.
Mr. Sankha Subhra Ray ...for the petitioner Mr. Soumyajit Mukherjee ...for the opposite party No.2 Mr. Saswata Gopal Mukherjee, Ld. P.P.
Md. Kutubuddin ...for the State Item No.02 Heard & Judgment on:

Bibek Chaudhuri, J.
The petitioners have prayed for quashing of the proceeding being G.R. Case No. 744 of 2021 arising out of Ghola Police Station Case No.25 of 2021 dated 13th January, 2021 under Sections 498A/323/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 / 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act presently pending before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Barrackpore.
During the pendency of the instant revision the parties have filed a joint application compromising the dispute amongst them. Accordingly, the Officer-in-charge of the concerned Police Station was directed to record a statement of the de facto complainant as to whether a voluntary settlement of the dispute has been effected or not. The Investigating Officer has submitted a report about the recorded statement of the petitioners. It appears from the said statement that the petitioners do not want to drag the criminal proceeding because amicable settlement has been arrived at between them and the private opposite party.
In view of such settlement, further proceeding in connection with G.R. Case No.744 of 2021 arising out of Ghola Police Station Case No.25 of 2021 be quashed.
The instant revision and the connected application are, thus, disposed of.
