A copy of the same is handed over to the learned counsel for the petitioner.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner alleges police inaction in a case which was started on 22.03.2023 under Sections 420, 406, 468, 379, 275, 284 and 506 of the Penal Code and Section 27 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State denies any police inaction and submits that a report in final form shall be submitted at the earliest.

From the report submitted by the State, it appears

that several steps have been taken during investigation. As many as 28 witnesses have been examined. Several articles were seized. Seized articles have been sent to The Director, State Pharmaceutical Laboratory & Pharmacy for Indian Medicine, Kalyani, Nadia on 15.02.2024 for obtaining a report.

Let the Director, State Pharmaceutical Laboratory & Pharmacy for Indian Medicine, Kalyani, Nadia furnish a report to the Investigating Agency as early as possible. Let the investigation be concluded expeditiously and in accordance with law.

No further order need be passed in this regard. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
