This is an application for quashing of proceeding on the ground of settlement in respect of G.R. Case No. 5909 of 2024 pending before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Howrah arising out of Howrah Women P.S. HPC Case No. 64 dated 16.11.2024. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits that a settlement and compromise has been arrived at between the private parties of all disputes that had led to the registration of the FIR

and a joint compromise application being CRAN 1 2025 has been filed by the private parties.

No one appears on behalf of the de-facto complainant/opposite party no.2.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the further statements of the de-facto complainant/opposite party no. 2, which is taken on record through a report. He submits that according to the statement, the de-facto complainant was confident that the other side would not cooperate with the mutual divorce case. In fact, she alleged that the other side had been threatening her. Therefore, it appears that no settlement and compromise between the private parties exists.

Accordingly, the joint compromise application and the revisional application praying for quashing of the impugned proceeding on the ground of settlement are dismissed.
