The petitioner is the counting agent of Hushnara Parveen, a candidate who was contesting the Panchayat General Elections, 2023 in respect of the Zilla Parishad (ZP-37), Malda.

The petitioner submits that though his candidate was initially declared elected but after ED votes were counted, the final tabulation sheet got changed and the petitioner thereafter was declared as not elected. A complaint was lodged before the State Election Commission by the political party of the candidate.

A further complaint was also lodged before the PRO & BDO, Kaliachak-II, Malda The same is yet to be disposed of.

Without going into the merits of the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the State Election Commission to take into consideration the representation/complaint filed on behalf of the petitioner on July 12, 2023 within a week from the date of communication of this order. reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner.

Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the complaint dated 12th July, 2023 to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
