The petitioner contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023 in respect of Hizole/XVIII-20 Gram Panchayat.

The petitioner submits that in total number 929 votes were polled on the voting date but at the time of counting it was found that 938 votes were polled at the time of counting.

The petitioner asserts that there was no postal ballot in the said seat and the number of ballot papers could not have exceeded the number of votes polled on the polling date.

The petitioner lodged complaint before the State Election Commission and also before the Block Development Officer. There is no response from their end.

Without going into the merits of the compliant lodged by the petitioner, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the State Election Commission to take into consideration the representation filed by the petitioner on 12th July, 2023 within a week from the date of communication of this order.

reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
