Affidavit of service filed in Court is taken on record. Mr. Srinjay Sengupta, Mr. Saurav Roy, Mr. Ankush Ghosh and Mr. Prasenjit Jana, learned Advocates appear for the petitioner.

Mr. N. C. Bihani, learned Senior Advocate and Mr. Soumyajit Ghosh, learned Advocate appears for the West Bengal Transport Corporation Limited.

Mr. Pannalal Bandopadhyay and Mr. Amit Kr. Ghosh, learned Advocates appear for the State The petitioner claims interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits. The petitioner superannuated from service of the WBTCL on April 30, 2024. He received his provident fund benefits of Rs. 3,99,065/- towards provident fund on April 28, 2025.

The petitioner is entitled to interest for the period from May 01, 2024 to April 28, 2025 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum. Let the same be paid to the petitioner by the WBTCL within a period of one month from date. In default of payment as directed above, the rate of interest shall stand increased to 9 per cent per annum.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
