The petitioners have approached this Court in respect of the excesses inflicted upon them by the private respondents and to that effect, the police authorities being informed, no action has been taken.

Learned advocates appearing for the private respondent nos. 4 and 5 denies and disputes such contentions of the petitioners.

Learned advocate appearing for the State has drawn the attention of the Court to averments made in paragraphs 9 and 11 of the writ petition. Having considered that no written information was furnished with the police authorities, I grant liberty to the petitioners to file written information with the Officer-in-Charge, Sandeshkhali Police Station who would on receipt of the information, enquire and take steps, if he finds the same fit and proper in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 17495 of 2024 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
