1. The petitioner claims interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits. The petitioner superannuated from service of the WBTCL on March 31, 2024. He received his provident fund benefits of Rs.24,45,594/- towards provident fund on March 15, 2025.

2. The petitioner is entitled to interest for the period from April 01, 2024 to March 15, 2025 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum. Let the same be paid to the petitioner by the WBTCL within a period of one month from date.

3. In default of payment as directed above, the rate of interest shall stand increased to 9 per cent per annum.

4. The writ petition, WPA 16526 of 2025 stands disposed of.

5. There will be no order as to costs.

6. All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. (Aniruddha Roy, J.)
