Mr. Soham Sanyal Ms. Anindita Maity ..For the Petitioner Ms. Chandreyi alam Mr. Arijit Majumdar ....For the UOI By an order dated August 16, 2023, this Court directed the Superintendent, Eastern Command Hospital to have the height of the petitioner admeasured and to assess the issue whether the petitioner was medically fit for being considered for recruitment to the post for which she appeared in the Staff Selection Commission's Examination, 2022. From a Report dated September 22, 2023 issued by the President, Medical Board for Commandant, it appears that the petitioner has been declared to be fit in terms of height. It has been held that the petitioner's height is 158 cms whereas the requirement is 157 cms.

Therefore, this Court directs the petitioner to be considered for recruitment by the authorities concerned if found otherwise eligible.

It is submitted by Ms. Alam, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Union of India that the Detailed Medical Examination of the candidates to assess the medical fitness is already concluded.

This Court directs that since the Court was in seisin of the matter when the selection process was going on, the petitioner's candidature for recruitment to be considered following the procedures of Recruitment and in accordance with law.

With the directions aforesaid, W.P.A. 16579 of 2023 is disposed of.
