The petitioner was appointed as a contractual teacher at Ghoradal High School (H.S), District24-Parganas (South). The petitioner was taken into custody in connection with a criminal case initiated against him on the allegation that he had collected money from different persons by assuring them to provide jobs of primary school teacher.

The petitioner is now on bail. He is praying that he may be allowed to resume his duty and is also praying the release of arrear honorarium. In view of the pendency of the criminal case and the gravity of the offence alleged against the petitioner, particularly the nature of his

engagement, the petitioner is not entitled to the relief as prayed for.

W.P.A. 16612 of 2023 is dismissed with the above terms without any order as to costs.
