Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

None appears on behalf of the respondents.

The petitioner seeks to be appointed as Muslim Marriage Registrar (MMR) in the Mayureswar P.S. area.

It appears that in an earlier round of litigation at the instance of the petitioner, the Court, vide judgment dated 22nd September, 2023 passed in WPA 15203 of 2018, directed the authority to complete the recruitment process for appointment of Muslim Marriage Registrar in Mayureswar and Mallarpur Police Station within three months.

The petitioner submits that appointment of Muslim Marriage Registrar was made only in respect of the Mallarpur Police Station area but the post of Muslim Marriage Registrar in Mayureswar Police Station area still remains vacant.

The petitioner made representation before the authority for appointing him as MMR. There is no response to the same.

As the respondents are not represented, the Court is not aware as to whether the recruitment process for appointment of the Muslim Marriage Registrar in Mayureswar Police Station has been acted upon in terms of the direction of the Court or not. 8.

As there is already a judgment delivered by the Court on 22nd September, 2023 for concluding the recruitment process within three months, accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 5 to take steps strictly in accordance with the judgment dated 22nd September, 2023, if not already taken in the meantime.

The aforesaid authority should take steps in the matter positively by 30th August, 2025.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
