A higher scale of pay was re-fixed in favour of the petitioner in compliance with the order of the Hon'ble Court dated February 09, 2023 and in consequence thereof, the petitioner was entitled to a sum of Rs.6,57,698/- (Rupees six lakh fifty seven thousand six hundred ninety eight only) towards arrear salary. The said amount was paid to the petitioner on May 29, 2025. The petitioner, for delay in payment, is praying interest on the said amount.

The petitioner, through the Managing Committee, had lodged a formal claim for payment of the said amount on July 03, 2024 but the payment was made on May 29, 2025 therefore, he is entitled to interest for the said period.

The concerned authority is directed to pay interest on the said arrear amount @ 8% per annum from the date of lodging of the said claim till the date of such payment.

W.P.A. 16617 of 2025 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities.
