C.R.M. (A) 3664 of 2022 03.08.2022 Sl.6 Court No.29 (AD) (Rejected) In Re: - An application for anticipatory bail under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with Chandannagar Police Station Case No.154 of 2022 dated 04/07/2022 under Sections 420/406 of the Indian Penal Code, being G.R. No.1060/2022.

And In the matter of: Sanchaita Ghosh @ Sanchita Ghosh & Anr. ....petitioners.

Mr. Sudip Ghosh Chowdhury ...for the petitioners.

Md. Anwar Hossain Mr. A.E. Molla ...for the State.

Petitioners pray for anticipatory bail.

Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that the petitioners could pay the amount involved within six weeks. The petitioners contacted the de facto complainant and the de facto complainant did not respond to the petitioners on the payment.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the materials in the case diary. He submits that the police personnel contacted the de facto complainant whereupon it was stated that the petitioners did not contact the de facto complainant.

There are serious allegations as against the petitioners. There are materials in the case diary implicating the petitioners. The materials in the case diary suggest a need for custodial interrogation of the petitioners.

In such circumstances, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

Accordingly, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the

petitioners is rejected.

C.R.M. (A) 3664 of 2022 is dismissed.
