1. Report and affidavit-of-service filed in Court today are taken on record.

2. The Principal Secretary, Finance, Government of West Bengal, namely, Dr. Manoj Pant, is present in virtual mode.

3. It is explained that there was a communication gap and hence, in terms of the order dated 17th November, 2023, the report could not be filed. There is a report filed today by the learned Advocate representing the Principal Secretary, Government of West Bengal.

4. It is submitted that the gratuity component has been paid to the petitioner. It is further submitted that in so far as the leave encashment is concerned, the same has been kept in abeyance since no person, who is engaged contractually, has been allowed any leave encashment.

5. The State may take appropriate decision in this regard at a future date.

6. In view of the compliance report filed by the Principal Secretary, Government of West Bengal, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

7. The personal presence of the Principal Secretary, Finance, Government of West Bengal is dispensed with.

8. There will be no order as to costs.

9. All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
