1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

The petitioner has raised an objection before the Assistant Engineer/ Station Manager, Kandra, Customer Care Centre objecting to the grant of supply for running submersible pump by the private respondent. The petitioner submits that the authority ought not to have granted any connection in favour of the private respondent within hundred metres of the connection of the petitioner.
3. A representation has been made which is alleged to be kept pending.
4. Learned advocate representing the private respondent submits, upon instruction that, connection is yet to be effected. The application has been made for obtaining the connection.

Learned advocate representing the Distribution Company Limited relies upon the list containing the blocks categorized as semi-critical and critical.
6. It appears that the block which the petitioner refers to is not included in the said list of semi-critical and critical blocks. It does not appear that there is any prohibition for grant of electric supply for running the submersible pump where application has been made by the private respondent for obtaining new connection.
7. In view of the above, the relief sought for by the petitioner cannot be allowed.
8. If the petitioner is able to obtain further document to show that there is prohibition for grant of electric connection at the place where the private respondent seeks connection, then it will be open for the petitioner to ventilate his grievance before the appropriate authority.
9. The writ petition stands disposed of.
8. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
