Mr. Aniket Mitra ...... for the State Petitioner is in custody for 127 days. It is contended victim committed suicide at the parental home.

Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for bail. He submits victim was tortured at her matrimonial home. Ultimately, she committed suicide within one month of marriage. We have considered the materials on record prima facie disclosing involvement of the petitioner in torturing his wife. As a result, she committed suicide within one month of marriage. In view of the aforesaid incriminating materials and gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected at this stage.
