Report filed on behalf of the State be kept with the records. 2.

3.2 kgs of codeine mixture was allegedly recovered from the petitioner. In view of the restrictions in Section 37 of the NDPS Act, we are not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. 3.

CRM (NDPS) 1101 of 2024 is, thus, dismissed.

However, the petitioner has now been in custody for two years. We are told that five out of eleven witnesses have been examined. Next date for examination of witnesses is August 27, 2024.

We direct the learned Trial Court to conclude the trial as soon as possible but definitely within four months from the next date fixed for examination of witnesses, without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties. 6.

We make it clear that if the trial is not concluded within the time period indicated herein, the petitioner will be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail.
