Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for about a year. Trial is yet to commence. He prays for bail.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. Bail prayer of the petitioner was turned down by this Court on 17th March, 2025 considering the material on record. The petitioner has been implicated by the eye witnesses to the alleged incident. The petitioner is in custody for about a year. Offence, if proved, shall attract mandatory life imprisonment.

Considering the gravity of the offence and prima facie involvement of the petitioner therein, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The application for bail is disposed of.
