Records reveal that none appeared to represent the writ petitioner on 9th August, 2023 when the matter was last taken up for hearing.

Today also none appears on behalf of the petitioner and no accommodation has been sought for though Mr. Chatterjee, learned Additional Public Prosecutor is present to represent the State.

From the report, as placed by Mr. Chatterjee, it transpires that the victim lady has already been recovered and the statement of the victim lady has been recorded under Section 164 of the Code in connection with Harishchandrapur Police Station Case No.616 of 2023 dated 1st July, 2023 under Section 364/365 of the Code and we have been informed that the victim lady is now staying in a safe custody under the supervision of the Child Welfare Committee, Malda. Let the report, as filed, is taken on record.

In such sequence of facts, no interference is called for in the writ petition and consequently, the writ petition stands disposed of.
