1. Affidavit of service filed in Court is taken on record.

2. The petitioner claims interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits. The petitioner superannuated from service of the WBTCL on October 31, 2018. He received his provident fund benefits of

Rs.12,51,157/- towards provident fund on February 04, 2019 and Rs.11,23,749/- towards leave encashment and gratuity on February 01, 2019.

3. The petitioner is entitled to interest for the period from November 01, 2018 to February 04, 2019 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum towards provident fund and from November 01, 2018 to February 01, 2019 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum towards gratuity and leave encashment. Let the same be paid to the petitioner by the WBTCL within a period of one month from date.

4. In default of payment as directed above, the rate of interest shall stand increased to 9 per cent per annum.

5. The writ petition is disposed of.

6. There will be no order as to costs.
