Liberty is granted to correct the cause title. The supplementary affidavit filed today is taken on record.

The petitioners are the registered law clerks who are aggrieved by a notice affixed in the offices of the Block Development Officer, Block Land & Land Reforms Officer and the District Land & Land Reforms Officer. On an enquiry, it has been revealed to the court that the said notice does not prevent the law clerks from doing the jobs that they are entitled to as per law, but the public has been cautioned against agents and touts so that they are not misled into approaching such persons for such jobs which they are not equipped to do.

The provisions of Section 2(e) of the West Bengal Law Clerks Act, 1997 permits the registered law clerks to do certain works.

Under such circumstances, except for those works which are permissible under the law, the law clerks shall not unnecessarily crowd the offices during any proceeding before the said officers or during the discharge of the any other official function by such officers which are not covered by Section 2(e) of the West Bengal Law Clerks Act, 1997.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
