The grievance of the writ petitioner in the instant writ petition is delayed disposal of the tribunal application, which was registered as OA 874 of 2021. It appears that the said application is pending before the Second Bench of the West Bengal Administrative Tribunal.

Our attention is drawn to the fact that several opportunities were given to the respondents therein to file their reply, yet they have chosen not to file any reply. However, despite the objection being raised, the Tribunal has granted the State respondents to file their reply and the matter is fixed on 20th December 2022. The State respondents are represented before us. Considering the gamut of the disputes raised in the instant application, we feel that the Tribunal ought to have made endeavour to dispose of the proceeding at an earliest.

Since the time to file reply has been extended from time to time and the next date is fixed on 20th December 2022, we expect that the State respondents shall file their reply on the said date.

The Tribunal is further requested to fix a date for hearing of the said tribunal application within a reasonable time not exceeding one month from the said date and the efforts shall be shown to dispose of the same within four months from the next date so fixed. With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
