After hearing learned counsel appearing for the parties, it appears that the writ petition is premature. The petitioner apprehends that the endorsement of "Emigration Check Required" may be put on her passport. Such apprehension may be entirely unfounded since according to the Regional Passport Authority, the passport has been sent for police verification and the stage of the endorsement, if any, has not come as yet.

WPA 17249 of 2022 is accordingly dismissed without any order as to costs.

The Regional Passport Authority is directed to expedite the processing of reissue of the petitioner's passport in accordance with law and preferably within three weeks from date.
