Mr. Rudra Prasad Sinha Ms. Sucharita Biswas Ms. Jayita Banerjee ... for the petitioner Mr. Somnath Ganguli Mr. Balarko Sen ... for the State Report filed on behalf of the State is taken on record. The grievance of the petitioner is that no FIR had been lodged on the complaint that the petitioner's brother had gone missing and ransom call was made in this regard though the missing diary was initially lodged. It appears from the further report filed by the State that an FIR has been registered being Serampore Police Station Case No.352/23 dated 09.08.2023 under Sections 364A/34 of the Penal Code.

Learned advocate for the State submits that both the accused persons have now been arrested. The FIR named accused was arrested earlier, now another three accused persons have also been arrested. The investigation is going on.

It appears that the respondent police authorities are now taking adequate steps to investigate the offence. Let them make the best efforts to recover the victim.

The investigating officer would carry out the investigation expeditiously and in accordance with law. With the aforesaid observations, WPA 16735 of 2023 is disposed of.

Urgent certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
