1. Petitioner is aggrieved by inaction of the police authorities as the direction for further investigation was passed on 17th January, 2025 in connection with G.R Case No.569 of 2023, yet no steps have been taken.

2. The learned advocate for the State has submitted a report. The report reflects that inter-State investigation is progressing and at each and every step, the Investigating Officer has to revisit parts of Maharashtra. The statements of the witnesses have been recorded and certain documents have also been collected.

3. In view of the reasons assigned by the Investigating Officer of the case, particularly with regard to the stage that further investigation is in progress, I

direct that the Case Diary be produced before the learned ACJM, Ghatal, Paschim Medinipur.

4. The learned Magistrate will consider the progress in the investigation and the reasons so assigned whether the same is justified or not so far as the steps taken by the Investigating Officer is concerned.

5. Let the date fixed in connection with G.R case no.569 of 2023 be pre-poned and be fixed on 21st August, 2025 before the Learned ACJM when the Investigating Officer will produce whole of the case diary.

6. The learned Magistrate would pursue the same and reflect his observation in the order to be passed on the said date.

7. This Court has not entered into the merits of the case and the learned Magistrate would independently consider regarding the steps taken by the Investigating Officer.

8. With the aforesaid observations, WPA 16696 of 2025 is disposed of.

9. Reports so submitted be kept with the records.

10. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
