Chatterjee ...for contemner no.2 Pursuant to my order dated February 4, 2022, the second alleged contemner, Mr Tushar Singla, the Additional District Magistrate and District Land & Land Reforms Officer, Paschim Medinipur, is present in court. Heard learned advocates appearing for the parties. Mr Siddiqui, learned advocate appearing for the alleged second contemner, files a compliance report in the form of an affidavit, which is taken on record, annexing the documents and making averments to the effect that the order of this court dated March 8, 2021 passed in WPA No.15807 of 2019 has been complied with.

I have gone through the aforesaid report and am satisfied that the order dated March 8, 2021 alleged to be violated has been complied with; and further this court does not appreciate the attitude of the officers in carrying out the order of this court with inordinate delay and after compelling the petitioner to approach this court.

It is expected that in future the alleged contemners will be cautious enough and will not repeat this type of violation of the order of the court; and at the same time this court does not appreciate the conduct of the petitioner who has suppressed the fact at the time of hearing by submitting that the order of this court has been partially complied with.

Considering the facts and circumstances, the contempt proceeding is dropped and the contempt rule stands discharged.

With the above observations, WPCRC No.20 of 2022 and the connected application, CAN No.1 of 2021, are disposed of.
