1. The petitioner renews her prayer for bail, which was rejected twice earlier on July 20, 2022 and September 27, 2023.

2. The petitioner says that she is in custody for two years and five months. Only nine out of 26 witnesses have been examined. She should be enlarged on bail.

3. While opposing the prayer for bail learned Advocate for the State draws our attention to the material in the case diary. We have also seen the depositions of witnesses who have been examined so far. There appears to be sufficient incriminating material/evidence against the petitioner. She is the daughter-inlaw of the victim lady. The allegation is that the other co-accused being the son of the victim lady and this petitioner beat up the elderly victim lady and then set her on fire. Signed By :

4. In view of the ghastly nature of the crime and the incriminating material against the petitioner, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer for bail. The prayer for bail is rejected.

5. The application being CRM (DB) 2169 of 2024 is accordingly dismissed.

6. However, since the petitioner is in custody for a substantial period of time, we direct the learned Trial Court to spare no effort to expedite the trial and bring the same to an early conclusion preferably within a period of one year from the next date fixed for examination of witnesses.

7. Parties are directed to communicate this order to the learned Trial Court.
