1. Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

2. Husband of the petitioner was a clerk of a Government aided school who died-in-harness on 16th April, 2022. Wife being the petitioner applied for appointment on compassionate ground within time and while processing such application District Inspector of Schools (SE) Hooghly vide memoranda dated 5th August, 2022 and 2nd September, 2024 asked the school authority to submit certain documents for taking decision on application of the petitioner seeking appointment on compassionate ground.

3. Learned advocates representing the petitioner and State respondents have jointly submitted that on 11th

August, 2022 school authority where husband of the petitioner was working forwarded all relevant documents as sought for by the concerned District Inspector of Schools (SE) for taking decision by the said District Inspector of Schools (SE).

4. In view of aforesaid submissions and pendency of the issue before the District Inspector of Schools (SE) concerned, respondent no. 3 is directed to take decision on prayer of the petitioner seeking appointment on compassionate ground by 4 (four) weeks from the date of communication of this order.

5. Decision to be taken by the respondent no. 3 shall be communicated to the petitioner by 10 days thereafter. If petitioner is found eligible to be appointed on compassionate ground recommendation shall be made to the concerned West Bengal Regional School Service Commission for taking further steps.

6. Writ petition stands disposed of.

7. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.)
