Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

Petitioner has questioned memo dated 22nd/24th April, 2025 issued by the Chairman, West Bengal Central School Service Commission whereby recommendation which was issued in favour of the petitioner for being appointed as Assistant Teacher in connection with 1st State Level Selection Test, 2016 (Upper Primary) was withdrawn.

Petitioner participated in the 1st SLST, 2016 (Upper Primary) and was selected. Petitioner was recommended vide memo dated 16th November, 2024 to a school for being appointed as Assistant Teacher for upper primary level of classes. Subsequently, petitioner was requested to attend the office of the

West Bengal Central School Service Commission (for short, 'Commission') for verification of his testimonials. Petitioner appeared before the concerned authority of the Commission on 17th April, 2025 and on verification of petitioner's testimonials it was found he obtained 38.96 per cent marks in graduation which is below the minimum marks one has to obtain for being appointed as Assistant Teacher in connection with 1st SLST, 2016 (Upper Primary).

Learned advocate representing the Commission has relied upon Schedule I Part A of the West Bengal School Service Commission (Selection for Appointment to the Posts of Teachers for Upper Primary Level of Schools) Rules, 2016 wherefrom it appears that a candidate who is possessing one year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) degree needs to secure at least 50 per cent marks in graduation.

In the present case, petitioner though is possessing one year Bachelor in Education degree but obtained 38.96 per cent marks in graduation which made the petitioner ineligible to be appointed as Assistant Teacher.

In view of aforesaid consideration this Court does not find infirmity in the memo dated 22nd/24th April, 2025 issued by the Chairman of the Commission.

Hence, no relief can be granted to the petitioner. 8.

Writ petition stands dismissed.

However, there shall be no order as to costs.
