The petitioner contested the Panchayat General Elections, 2023 and lost.

The husband of the petitioner was her election agent. Allegation is that the election agent was beaten and thrown out of the counting centre. The petitioner sought to lodge a complaint before the police but the same was refused to be accepted.

The petitioner was ultimately able to lodge the complaint through email on 15th of July, 2023. The petitioner prays for a direction upon the respondent authorities to consider the objection filed by the petitioner.

The submission and prayer of the petitioner is opposed by the learned advocate representing the State respondent.

It appears from the submissions made on behalf of the petitioner and the documents annexed to the writ petition that the complaint which the petitioner seeks consideration was lodged long after the counting took place.

If there is any allegation with regard to malpractice, it will be open for the petitioner to approach the appropriate forum for relief.

No relief can be granted to the petitioner in the instant writ petition.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
