The learned advocate for the petitioner has requested the expeditious disposal of the proceedings in G.R. No. 3075 of 2016, which arose from Maniktala Police Station Case No. 320 of 2016, dated September 12, 2016. The case, registered under Section 324 of the Indian Penal Code, is currently pending before the learned Judicial Magistrate, 2nd Court, Sealdah, South 24-Parganas. He further submitted that a prosecution was initiated against the petitioner by his neighbour in 2016, but the charge could be framed in 2023. The trial is progressing slowly, as the examination of P.W.1 (Prosecution Witness 1) is still ongoing. While a date was fixed for the cross-examination of P.W.1 on July 23, 2025, it has yet to be completed. Therefore, Learned advocate has prayed for a directive instructing the learned Trial Judge to make every necessary effort for the swift trial and disposal of this case. Considering the innocuous nature of this prayer, the learned advocate for the State raised no objection.

The learned Trial Judge is hereby directed to take all necessary measures to ensure the conclusion of the trial and disposal of the case, granting only short adjournments as required. Accordingly, CRR 3226 of 2025 is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

An urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be provided to the parties upon compliance with all necessary formalities.
